Introduction Post

      Here goes another blog.

      At one time thousands of blogs started every day.  The web allows anyone with a computer to start one.  While I have no illusions that mine will get read by more than by a handful of people, it will still be my attempt to establish my own little spot on the web.  I am aware that my insights on anything are not any more profound or insightful than anyone else.

      I am going to do what most bloggers do, which is write about what I like and find interesting even if I am writing on subjects many others have already written about. Although opinions about any variety of things are cheap, and as the cliche goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

     I am a sixty something male.  I’ve come to notice that attitudes about various things tend to be linked to age and experience.  Whether the things I write about will offer anything more than my own amusement will remain to be seen.  My life experience is as unique as anyone’s and I’ll enjoy seeing if people stop by.

     I intend to write about humanism, science fiction, Star Trek, politics and whatever else might prompt me.  I’m a life long reader and consumer of science fiction books, movies and TV shows.  Like many of my age I’ve read and seen a lot.  I’ll offer my thoughts on the good, bad and ugly of it.
